If you are in a college program that encourages or requires an internship for a grade, The Orange Peel has several options available:
- Marketing and Publicity Intern: Duties include
working with our Promotions Team, working with
our Graphic Artist and working with our Street
Team Manager to insure the success of individual shows
and of The Orange Peel brand. Marketing at The Orange Peel
is extremely fun and rewarding – you
will learn about executing a marketing plan in
the real world as well as street team management,
e-list marketing and much more!
- Small Business Intern: Duties include general
office work, filing, making and receiving phone
calls, inventory, sales, scheduling and other business
related activities. If you are a future entrepreneur or
music business professional – this
is a great place to start. You will learn everything from personnel
management techniques to contract negotiation.
- Technical Intern: Duties are commensurate with
experience but may include loading band equipment
in and out of the club, setting up instruments
and microphones, cleaning equipment, and working
with the Technical Director, Monitor Engineer and/or Lighting
Director to learn live sound and lights production.
- Graphic Arts Intern: Duties include special projects, ad creation, typesetting, project management, merchandising and more. You will work with the General Manager and Graphic Artist at The Orange Peel to make sure your experience is both rewarding and fruitful. Our Graphic Arts department is Mac based and you should have your own computer and software – we provide all other materials.
Because colleges have varying requirements for internships, The Orange Peel can cater each intern's experience to the college's specification, however, our internships are unpaid and we have strict requirements and work hours. Our interns have used their experience to become a road manager for a touring band, a d.j. on a commercial radio station, a master's candidate in a music business program, and various other entertainment and arts related jobs. All of our interns enjoy behind the scenes access to great live music and dancing events and other perks.
Remember: we treat interns like students, not slaves!
Our internships are HIGHLY competitive – we receive dozens of applications for the limited number of internships we have so please be very descriptive (although honest!) in your application. Let us know if you have special language skills, computer skills, etc. We are not necessarily looking for experience in the music biz – we are just looking for people who will make the most of their time here at The Peel. (It helps if you look good in orange!)

Application, fill out and mail, fax or email back to The
Orange Peel. We'll get back to you soon after.

Spring and Fall internships run concurrently with your school’s academic calendar – Summer internships are June 1 – August 10.
