Anberlin
plus Madina Lake, Between The Trees & The Becoming |
|
Over the course of six years, Anberlin has established themselves as one of alternative rock's most exciting acts. They've transcended that sound with New Surrender. In fact, their latest album that shows the band reconcillin all of their seemingly disparate moods into a cohesive blend of music that will lull you to sleep with gentle harmonies one minute and shake you to the core via raw, distortion-drenched rock riffage the next. Although the album retains the Anberlin sound that fans have grown to love, in many ways it's also an album of firsts that marks the next chapter in the band's illustrious history. "The whole album is conceptualized around the theme of the new surrender in the sense that everyone in their lives has something they know they have to give up," says Christian. "There's something that's holding each of us back from who we could become, so I think each song kind of tackles that theme of surrendering parts of life whether it's a person or a vice." New Surrender is also the first Anberlin album to work the band's well-documented humanitarian efforts into the lyrics, which have included going to Kenya to teach about AIDS prevention or traveling to Calcultta, Indai, to educate the masses about the danger of human trafficking.

Appetite For Destruction
Friday, January 9th |
|
Dateline- Anytown,USA. Time-4:30 am. We find our heroes back at any random hotel in any random city -they all run together for a group of entertainers that average 200 shows and 60,000 miles a year on the road. Notquiteaxl [Chad Atkins] has disappeared -in true GNR fashion. Notquiteduff and Notquiteslash are nursing a bottle of Jager in preparation for the next day's hangover. Notquiteizzy riffs out on the hotel room couch to Notquiteadler's [Mike Ropelewski] drum patterns played on phonebooks and cityguides. Appetite For Destruction, the ultimate tribute to Guns N’ Roses, has lived this lifestyle since its inception in 2000. The current incarnation of the band (together since 2006) is still based around Chad Atkins' amazing voice. AFD travels the country delivering the most authentic tribute to Guns N’ Roses, circa 1987-1993, most will ever see. Material is drawn from Appetite for Destruction through Use Your Illusion 1 and 2, including Lies, and The Spaghetti Incident? with stage banter derived from a variety of live shows and videos. Appetite For Destruction plays all the favorites – Sweet Child o’ Mine, Paradise City, Patience and many, many more. In venues large and small, Appetite For Destruction has played to rave reviews for aural and visual authenticity. And they will continue until they have brought their rock and roll circus to every corner of the United States. |

Steep Canyon Rangers
Friday, January 16th |
|
The Steep Canyon Rangers have carved out a special spot in the world of bluegrass music, creating a sound that looks forward and backwards at the same time. First formed in the stairwells and kitchens of Chapel Hill, NC, the Rangers arrive from varied musical backgrounds. On stage and in the studio, Woody Platt, Mike Guggino, Charles Humphrey, Nicky Sanders, and Graham Sharp have perfected their ensemble approach using fierce dynamics and seamless harmonies. The Rangers base their sound around a stunning catalogue of original songs, drawing on the sounds of early bluegrass, honky tonk, and blues.

Cross Canadian Ragweed
Saturday, January 17th |
|
Cross Canadian Ragweed knows all about the ritual of keepin' on -- and leaving nothing in reserve. The Oklahoma quartet has been pushing it to the metal for 13 years, through four studio albums, an equal number of live sets and 260 or so nights on the road every year. They don't skimp. They don't compromise. They play, and live, with genuine abandon and wouldn't have it any other way. |

Nappy Roots is your favorite platinum-selling American alternative southern rap group that originated in Kentucky in 1995 and is best known for hits such as; "Awnaw" (Produced by Groove Chambers/ft Jazze Pha),” “Round Da Globe,” and “Po Folks.” Nappy Roots has accomplished so much early on in their careers with their first two album releases “Watermelon, Chicken & Gritz” and “Wooden Leather.” They were the number one selling hip-hop group in 2002, as well as won various award nominations. The group consisted of Milledgeville, Georgia native Fish Scales, Kentucky natives Skinny DeVille, B. Stille, Ron Clutch, Big V and Oakland, California native R. Prophet. Prophet decided to leave the group in order to pursue his solo career. Music video for "Po' Folks" |

Unearth
plus Emmure, Born Of Osiris & Impending Doom |
|
If you're searching for brutal and aggressive metal, you've met your match with Unearth. Combining elements of hardcore, thrash, and extreme metal - while also never overlooking the importance of thought-provoking lyrical ideas and concepts - Unearth has steadily become one of the leading lights in heavy metal. Look at the careers of all great metal bands, and there is a certain album that pushed the respective group to the next level. The March, the forthcoming fourth full-length from Unearth is bound to be that album for the band, as it contains all the expected elements from earlier Unearth classics, while also managing to drive their sound forward. Hailing from just north of Boston, Unearth originally formed in 1998 with a three-man core - singer Trevor Phipps, guitarists Buz McGrath and Ken Susi – and were subsequently joined by bassist John “Slo” Maggard. Derek Kerswill’s union with the band marks Unearth’s latest addition, resulting in what many consider to be the band’s most potent line-up of all. Over the years, Unearth has issued a steady stream of modern metal classics, including such full-lengths as 2001’s The Stings of Conscience, before signing with Metal Blade, and issuing 2004’s The Oncoming Storm. All the while, Unearth continuously crisscrossed the globe, becoming one of the hardest – and most consistent – touring bands in all of hard rock. Over the years the quintet has played in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, South America, Mexico, Japan, Europe including the Netherlands and their first ever headlining trip to Russia, and has appeared not once, but two times each on such renowned metal fests as Ozzfest and Download. They have also appeared on International festivals such as Rock Am Park, Rock Am Ring, Loud Park, Wacken and others. In the process, Unearth has toured alongside some of rock’s top names, including Slayer, Slipknot, Killswitch Engage, Hatebreed, Lamb of God, and many others.

2007 was a year of transition and reinvention for our band, having been on the road almost constantly since the fall of 2001 a break was desperately needed. A little time at home to recharge and perhaps rethink some things. |
